Southern Ireland Repeater Group

The Southern Ireland Repeater Group's 70cm repeater EI7FXR at Farmer's
Cross in Cork city was upgraded recently to a Motorola MTR 2000. This
replaces the long serving Motorola MC Compact that has been in service
on the site for many years. The new unit has a power output of 30 watts
to the antenna and is more sensitive on receive that the old one so the
coverage should be much improved. Work was carried out by Neil EI3JE.

Signal reports can be emailed to: sirnrepeaters /at/ gmail.com

South Dublin Radio

Dah dit dah dit , Dah dah dit dah, Morse classes will be starting this
week at South Dublin Radio club. Run by EI7GY Joe Ryan anyone attending
is asked to bring a pen and paper. Passing the Morse test allows
existing Radio Experimenters to move from a 3 letter call to a 2 letter
call. It may also allow operating in countries where Morse is still a
requirement. Classes will take place in a separate room allowing the
usual tea drinking and chat to continue for everyone else. It starts
8.30pm sharp every Tuesday at the Community Centre at the Marian Road
in Rathfarnham. All welcome. Booking not required.
