The FCC on March 28 adopted rules that will allow secondary Amateur Radio
access to 472-479 kHz (630 meters) and to 135.7-137.8 kHz (2,200 meters),
with minor conditions.



It allocates 472-479 kHz to the Amateur Service on a secondary basis and
amends Part 97 to provide for Amateur Service use of that band as well as
of the previously allocated 135.7-137.8 kHz band. The...

2017 Power Horn, Thanks to the event coordinator, Mrs. Kwock, for inviting
Amateur Radio to present to the Scouts. The Ventures and Explorer Scouts
were broken up into several groups. Each group stopped by and amateur radio
was introduced to about 40 scouts throughout the day.

FCC issues a Notice of Violation to Solar City for RFI Inteferance

After an on-site visit and testing by an FCC Enforcement Agent of the ~S9
interference cause to my station by a Solar City solar array located 2
houses away, the FCC issued Solar City a Notice of Violation.



It appears that at least one of the primary interference generating
components is a load balancing device called an "optimizer" which is
attached to back of each solar panel. Testing by the FCC Agent showed that
the interference does not stop until the optimizer is detached from the...

Using AppleScript with Fldigi And RUMLogNG

This AppleScript makes logging into RUMLogNG from Fldigi a breeze.



There are at least a couple of different ways to get this AppleScript
working with RUMLogNG and Fldigi. This is a simple method and includes
various helpful links and the script itself for RUMLogNG.



The equipment: An old iMac, Icom 7300, one USB cable, RUMLogNG, Fldigi and
of course the AppleScript.
