UKEICC Contests

The United Kingdom and Ireland Contest Club runs one-hour evening
contests on 80 metres during the months September to April, with a CW
contest on Wednesday next, 28th March at 20:00 UTC (Note that this
contest had previously been advertised as taking place at an earlier
time, however the start time has been changed to 20:00 UTC to avoid a
clash with another event).

UKEICC also runs 24-hour international contests twice a year, the next
one starts at 12:00 UTC this coming Saturday, 31st March. It is a CW
event, covering the contest bands from 10 to 80 metres, and includes a
12-hour category.

Multipliers are the 32 EI and GI counties, district codes for Britain
and Crown Dependencies, plus overseas DXCC entities. See www.ukeicc.com
for full details of both of these upcoming events, which have been well
supported by EI stations in recent years.

Licence Examination Report

IRTS Examination Board publishes reports from time to time,
incorporating observations on the standard of answering in the HAREC
exams, along with advice for those studying for future exams or
tutoring exam candidates.

The latest examination report is in the current issue of Echo Ireland.
This report, along with four previous reports published over recent
years, is included in an updated version of the document "Studying for
Harmonised Amateur Radio Examination Certificate" available at
www.irts.ie/downloads - the IRTS web site's downloads page. As well as
the examination report, this document includes the exam syllabus, notes
for candidates, four pages of annexes containing key information very
relevant to the exam questions, and a sample paper.
