FCC Report 12/2: Family Stations Loses Baltimore Translator Application

https://radioinsight.com/headlines/1...r-application/

Dismissals/Deletions

Multiple interference objections have led to the demise of Family Stations
application for a new translator in Baltimore MD.

Family first sought to place its translator for 750 WBMD Baltimore on 103.1
with 99w/155m. That led Empire Broadcasting AAA 103.1 WRNR-FM Grasonville
MD to file a complaint indicating it had multiple listeners within to
projected contours of the translator (which was the second attempt by a
Baltimore AM to operate a translator on 103.1). An amendment with lower
power (20w horizontal/155m) was dismissed this week due to further
objections from WRNR-FM demonstrating at least 20 listeners plotted in a
map of the translators contour. A complaint from Hubbard Radios 103.5
WTOP-FM Washington DC was dismissed for using Longley-Rice coverage area
predicted interference instead.

In 2016, American FM Associates was granted a CP to move 94.3 W232CL Roxana
DE to 103.1 in Baltimore where it would rebroadcast Christian Talk 1230
WRBS with 99w/49m. After Empires complaint, the translator would eventually
make it into Baltimore on 94.3
