Trevor Griffiths, G7PEE and his friend and fellow club member Peter Smythe,
M0JVY started the club net on 23 March in response to the Covid crisis.
145.375 Mhz was chosen as it was the preferred frequency of the TDARC for
its regular Sunday evening net hosted by David Pow, G6POW. Initially it was

Leyland and District Amateur Radio

At the start of lockdown, four radio amateurs at Leyland and District
Amateur Radio (LADAR) started a weekly net to keep in touch as they couldnt
meet as usual. The first net was on 18 March 2020 and was so well-received
it started running biweekly. To keep things interesting, the group
introduced some on-air games []

New Ofcom EMF guidance

Ofcom has just published specific advice to amateurs about the new EMF
Licence condition. It is based around an FAQ type of document. It attempts
to address common questions that Ofcom and the RSGB have been asked since
the original announcement on the 1st of March. It contains some worked

Direct Entry to Full licence consultation. The background, draft syllabus
and the link to the survey are on the Society’s website. The survey closes
at midnight on Sunday, 14 March 2021.
