Last weekend was memorable for all the right reasons. Filled with 24 hours
of amateur radio, spent with friends, in a park, making noise and having
fun, marking the first time I recall setting up in a park for that length
of time with so few extra resources. Normally we'd be decked out with
tents, or in my case a swag, we'd have camping stoves, perhaps even a
caravan or two, tables, cutlery, the whole shebang

Resuming examinations in clubs

The RSGB remote invigilation exams have been a great success during the
Covid-19 pandemic. Over 3,100 candidates have made the first step into the
hobby by obtaining a Foundation pass, nearly 950 have progressed to the
Intermediate exam and over 330 to the Full licence

This year, as well, the Coronavirus pandemic is maintaining a firm grip on
world events. Due to current developments regarding the spread of COVID-19,
Messe Friedrichshafen has been forced to make a very difficult decision.
The Ham Radio international amateur radio exhibition will not take place in
the planned time frame of June 25-27, 2021, but instead will be held from
June 24 to 26, 2022

Hannes Coetzee, ZS6BZP, reports that the solar activity is expected to be
at low levels. There are a couple of sunspot regions with simple magnetic
configurations visible. No solar flaring is expected
