* PLEASE NOTE: The report "could" contain "Pirate/SLIM" operations or
more likely a "BUSTED CALLSIGN". As always, you never know - "Work
First Worry Later" (WFWL).

4X, ISRAEL. Look for 4X0WV to be active once again in the 2005 CQWW SSB
Contest (October 29-30th). The operator is West Virginia's ARRL Section
Manager and Potomac Valley Radio Club (PVRC) contester, Hal, W8HC
(ex-KC8FS). He will return to Israel in October for a third consecutive
CQWW SSB Contest from the IARC Club Station 4X4REM in Reut, located
between Tel Aviv and Jerusalem. Joining Hal this year is Jerry, K8OQL,
another PVRCer from West Virginia. They will operate as a Multi-Single
entry using 4X0WV during the contest. The special callsign was used last
year by Hal and Dave, WA8WV. QSL to W8HC or via the bureau.

5H, TANZANIA. On Saturday afternoon there was a meeting of the National
Capital DX Association at (Frank) W3LPL's QTH, and Ralph Karhammer, VK4VB
(aka 5H3RK), announced that he would be leaving Sunday, June 19th for
Tanzania. Look for him on 40/20/15 meters CW. QSL via: Ralph Karhammer,
1306 34th Street NW, Washington, DC 20007-2801.

9J, ZAMBIA. James, 9J2CA, has been active recently on 20/17 meters CW.
Watch these bands around 0430z and between 1400-1600z (maybe as late
as 1830z). His QSL Manager is Phil, G3SWH. Phil states, "I have now
received all of James' historic logs and the QSL cards from the printers."

A6, UNITED ARAB EMIRATES (News from ON5NT). Ghis, A6/ON5NT, informs OPDX
that about 10 new A61-one-letter-suffix callsigns/licenses have recently
been issued to local operators. OPDX has seen QSNs for A61M, A61Q and
A61R. Look for A6/ON5NT to be active from Dubai until the end of June and
then again during August and September. Ghis will spend his holidays at
home in Belgium during the whole month of July. A multicolor-picture of
A6/ON5NT QSLs will be ready on his return home in July. All cards received
as of now will be answered in July. He tells OPDX that he has made 9000
QSOs.
ADDED NOTES FROM GHIS. Ghis provides the following updates on the
operators in the World Food Programme:

ST, Sudan: Dane/S57CQ (aka ST2T) has left Sudan. He might be back
there later in the year.
TT8, Chad: Michael, PA5M (TT8M), will return to Abeche, Eastern Chad
around June 20th for about another month's stay and will
then be leaving Chad. As soon as Michael has arrived,
Pierre, HB9AMO (TT8AMO), will be leaving Chad. During
the middle of last week, Pierre was up to 10000 QSOs.

B*HQ, CHINA. The Chinese Radio Sports Association (CRSA) HQ stations will
be on air during the 2005 IARU HF World Championship. Nine well-equipped
contest stations will sign 5 different special callsign on 160-10 meters,
CW and SSB. They want to produce the best score ever done in China. Look
for the following stations to be active:

ADDED NOTE: Two awards are available: CRSA HQ Award and the CRSA 0-9
District Award. Please contact BA4RF for details at:

CY9SS, ST. PAUL ISLAND. The CY9SS operation still continues in spite of
some early related weather problems. Reportedly, there are more operators
on the island now. This past Sunday activity was heard on 160/40/20/15/6
meters some SSB and CW. There seems to be some confusion on the QSL
address. There are three different addresses for VY2SS.
------------------------------------------------------------------
HamCall: Robert Robertson, #57 Tranquility Land, Bloomfield,
PE C0B 1E0, Canada
QRZ.com: Robert Robertson, #57 Tranquility Land, Oleary,
PE C0B 1E0, Canada
CY9SS
Web Page: Robert Robertson, RR#3, Oleary, PEI, Canada C0B 1V0
-------------------------------------------------------------------
Since the CY9SS operation has a Web page with an address, OPDX suggests
to use that address. However, OPDX would think all three addresses are
"OK", because "Prince Edward Island" (PE or PEI) is not all that big.

GREEK (J4) ISLAND TOUR. Antonio, IK8VRH, and possibly others have announced
their "2005 IOTA SV Tour". Activity will be on 20/17/15 meters CW/SSB/RTTY.
QSL via IK8VRH. The proposed schedule is as follows:
Dates Greek Island Reference Numbers Callsign
-------------- -------------- ----------------- --------
August 12-14th - Spetses Island EU-075 LH-GRE063 J48RH/P
August 16-18th - Dokos Island EU-075 LH-GRE058 J48RH/P
August 20-22nd - Kityra Island EU-113 LH-GRE120 * J48RH/P

** Or possibly Skiza Island (NO LH)

HAMRADIO FRIEDRICHSHAFEN ACTIVITIES. Frank, DL4KQ, provides the following
announcements:
The GDXF will honor Mrs. Bharathi, VU2RBI, and the NIAR VU4 DXpedition
team with an "Award of Appreciation" at Hamradio Friedrichshafen. The
ceremony will take place on Saturday, June 25th, 4:00 PM, Hall A2,
Room 2 and will be attended by representatives of the Indian Embassy
and the Indian Ministry of Communication & IT.

Following the ceremony and as a part of the GDXF program, Mrs. Bharathi
will give a lecture about the VU4 DXpedition.

VU2RBI, VU4 DXpedition members and more VU hams, which operated during
the Tsunami disaster from the Nikobar Islands, can be visited at the
NIAR/GDXF booth during the Hamradio exhibition.

GDXF is glad to announce that a special VU4 QSL service will be
available at their booth on Friday, June 24th, 3-4:00 PM and Saturday,
June 25th, 1-3:00 PM.

Furthermore, the GDXF HAMRADIO program will include further
presentations:

Following the VU4 lecture, Bob, KK6EK, will give a report about
the planned K7C, Kure Island Dxpedition.

Already on Friday afternoon, 4:00 PM, Hall A2, Room 3, Andrea,
IK1PMR, will give a presentation about the February 2004 6O0CW
DXpedition to Somalia.

GDXF hopes to have arranged an attractive program and would be
pleased if many visitors visit their booth.

ILLW UPDATE. Mike, GM4SUC, reports that as of Sunday, June 19th, there are
already 164 stations in 31 countries that have confirmed their participation
in the 2005 International Lighthouse/Lightship Weekend, August 20-21st. A
list of the stations with QTH and QSL information can be found at:
http://illw.net/2005_list.htm
If you want to join in the fun during the ILLW, please listen for other
lighthouse or lightship stations. They wish to remind non-U.S. CW stations
to operate above 14025 kHz to allow access by Advanced Class U.S. amateurs.
Operations below 14225 kHz just eliminates the potential for some U.S.
hams to work the LH stations. Last year there were 376 lighthouse/lightship
stations active during the ILLW. So come and join them in the fun during
the ILLW and make a total of over 400 lighthouse/ship station contacts. An
entry form can be found on the web page at: http://illw.net

been postponed. The announcement stated that their airplane seats were
needed for other passagers. However, they are expected to go there for a

QSL INFO AND NEWS......................
MORE ABOUT IRCS AND SWEDEN. The information about IRCs for HZ1EX by

with "problems"...

NX13 at the Mull of Galloway Lighthouse [ARLHS SCO-144] in Dumfries
and Galloway Council Area.) via the RSGB QSL-Bureau or direct.

R750/RK2/UA2, KALININGRAD (Special Activity/Event/Prefix). Victor, UA2FM,
RK2FWA Trustee, wants to remind everyone that from June 20th to July 20th,
UA2 hams will be active with a R750 prefix celebrating the 750th anniversary
of Konigsberg - Kaliningrad. He mentions that this month is a great
opporunity to get their awards without QSL cards. Please, see the rules
at the following Web sites. (Don't be confused with the cyrillic letters,
move your cursor down, the English text is also there.):

Kaliningrad - Koenigsberg 750: http://www.qrz.ru/awards/detail/948.html
Kaliningrad Districts Award: http://www.qrz.ru/awards/detail/37.html

Most of the callsigns are suffix based, but some may be different. Please,
do not send cards via Box 88 Moscow, since they do not cooperate with the
SRR QSL bureau. Use the UA2 QSL Bureau address instead: UA2 QSL Bureau,
ROSTO Technical School, ul.Ozernaya 31, Kaliningrad, 236029 Russia.
Otherwise follow the operator's QSL instructions. Also, look for the UA2

address.

active as much as possible with an emphasis on CW, the WARC bands, low
bands (He will do special effort towards North, Central and South America
on 160-30m during winter season.) and some digimodes. However, he does
state, "Be aware that power cut offs, unstable voltage, heavy thunderstorms
and incredible man made noise makes it difficult to keep up a regular
and steady activity." Johnny was heard this past week very active on 20
meters RTTY between 1230-2000z. His equipment is: FT-1000D, IC-706 MKIIG,
