So my son and I are reading up on all this space and satellite stuff and I
plan on investing in another radio this spring. We have a few HTs between
us and none of them can cross-band. Im a die-hard Yaesu fan and I believe
they have an HT (the FT2D, I think) that can cross-band but its $400 even
on sale. Ive had my eye on the FT-817 for years now as I have interest in
QRP and mountain-topping.



So for another $320 I would have a lot more radio that will be able to do
it all. Does all this...
