Please explain how to do that with Thunderbird. You should make sure that you have a proper news reader and then configure it as has been outlined in the news.answers FAQs for the last 20 years or so. If Thunderbird won't cut the mustard, then you should drop it in in favor of one of the other three or four *free* newsreaders which can do the job. Usenet users should take responsibility for their own environment and stop asking others to do it for them. Too many people have a cheesy newsreader (such as Google Groups) and are too lazy to find a good one. They are often the people who complain the most loudly about crossposts instead of doing something about it themselves. (Hint: People using newsreaders which can filter on the Newsgroups header should develop a filter which uses that header. If an article is crossposted, there will be at least one comma in that header. To kill all crossposted articles, kill all articles with a comma in the Newsgroups header. You can also use the Xref header to do the same thing by searching for two or more colons.) |

Anyone with a little common sense knows this crap posting is wrong and needs to be taken elsewhere. Why should I have to add filters every day to get rid of it. The people involved are obviosly too chicken **** to settle it face to face. So dont be defending them because everyone that is reading this knows its wrong and we want to see it stop. |
