It's a bit of a non-sequitar, but since you asked, I only work with one Ham who is big on Morse code. He is pretty technically savvy. But that is a sample of one, so I can't make any judgement. Quite a few of the Hams that I am friends with are quite competent, and Morse code acumen doesn't seem to be much of a determinant of technical savvy. But I'm around a lot of IT types, and can make a judgement. By and large, they are not technically proficient. That's just how it is.
