Maybe, maybe not. Neither one was a Morse code "fanatic", though...

In the past few days we have a new ham who uses a modified ham rig to
send false distress calls on marine frequencies (using a voice mode,
btw), and a somewhat more experienced one who shoots and kills a law
enforcement officer. Both for no discernable reason.

Really good publicity for amateur radio, huh?

How many engineers do we have to attract to the ARS to make up for
those two?

My condolences to the friends and families.

Unfortunatly it's not the case.
I seem to recall him being a regular
checkin to one of the so-called
"patriot" nets on 75 Meters.
Specifically, the one that was started
by Steve AA8DP a few years ago
that is of late now defunct.
