I just got back from an evening of looking at Mars. Since it is closer
now than it has been in a long time, and won't be this close again when
any of us are around, I suggest getting out and taking a look-see. And
if you don't have a scope, latch on to someone who does.

It was an awe inspiring evening.

Mars is the BIG bright reddish-orange star that appears to the
east at about 2230 local time. You CANNOT miss it!

It is worth the look even with binoculars.

It's quite spectacular even when viewed with the naked eye. How much
longer will it be visible?
