Hello, Jim Remember when even the Sears catalogue had radios in them? I'm not talking cb radios, I mean Hallicrafters receivers etc. That was in the early 60s as I recall (probably earlier too - but that was before I got interested in them). I went on the air as a Novice with a Hallicrafters S-40B I bought from Sears in the 1952 timeframe. I passed on the BC-610 though, used an 80M ARC-5. 73 from Rochester, NY Jim AA2QA w3rv "N2EY" wrote in message om... And did it with just one 10 word sentence. ---- Fun facts: - The BC-610/HT-4 family only went up to 18 MHz. - Versions were made from 1939 to 1955, ending with the BC-610I. - The companion BC-939 tuner was designed and made by Upper Darby's own B&W, which is still in business. - Complete manual available free-for-the-download from the KG7BZ website 73 de Jim, N2EY --- Outgoing mail is certified Virus Free. Checked by AVG anti-virus system (http://www.grisoft.com). Version: 6.0.590 / Virus Database: 373 - Release Date: 2/16/04 |
