Default For the Benefit of Mr. Kite #2

Mr. Kite is still having a problem in understanding what problems are
caused by synthesizer phase noise. He seems to be stuck in the rut of
believing that an attempt is being made to redefine "noise" and he has
the idea that we're tying the issue of "phase noise" to sensitivity.
Noise floor is typically not an issue at HF where local noise routinely
overrides the noise floor of a receiver. Earlier I submitted several
urls for Mr. Kite's edification. He might learn something about the
issue if he reads page 52 of the .pdf file found at:

http://www.arrl.org/tis/info/pdf/020708qex046.pdf

A sugar-coated version appears in the article at:

http://www.arrl.org/qst/2004/08/Tracy.pdf

Yes, Mr. Kite, phase noise was an issue twenty or more years ago. There
were frequency synthesized transceivers back then.
