Subject: Get your Trophy US Extra Callsign (A KH0x call would be nice!)

Why should any U.S. license be issued to someone in a foreign country that has no intention of using it in the U.S. ? Because the US exams are even easier than the ones in their own countries? Close, Walt. Does any other country publish the verbatim questions and answers to their exams? I don't think our exams, when reviewed specifically, are any harder or easier than any other. It's the fact that you don't have to really know what all those things mean as long as you can rote memorize enough of the questions and answers to get an acceptable score! My XYL passed the General class written seveal years ago after using the "QRZ" test prep feature...She "passed" the written first time around and still can't tell you the difference between a diode and a dipole ! ! ! And with the CEPT stuff, there's even more reason not to issue U.S. licenses in many countries. Does it matter? It's all nothing more than multiband CB now, anyway. Subjective, Walt. Belgians (and others) have been known to take out UK licences just to enable them to get reciprocal licences in The Bahamas. Did they get those licenses illegally per UK law...?!?! 73 Steve, K4YZ |
