Near space update - sort of
Hello all,
This is sort of an update on the near space ballooning project I was working on. Despite what we plan on, we are some times steered in other direction by events. A number of these events have occurred in the club I am a member of, and the balloon project has been temporarily slowed by my new position as Chairman of the Pennsylvania QSO party. The PAQSO party is the largest state QSO party, and will take up a lot of my time. This means the ballooning project will be on the back burner for a year or so. I'm a bit disappointed that there is a delay, but am plenty excited about the prospects of running the QSO party. - Mike KB3EIA - |

I was gonna leap all over this one but then I decided to not respond at all . . . Go ahead. I announced it so you could have your chance. I *toldja* I was gonna ignore it and be nice for once, but no, you just had to stir it up again. FINE then: I'm back in . . Just an announcement if anyone was interested. If I was backing off the project, I probably would have just kept my yap shut until someone asked. YIMV. At least ya got that right . . . There are only so many people to do things, and with the need arising in the QSO party, which is of the "show must go on" sort of nature, the path was pretty clear. Self-appointed heros tend to die young. It will be as much work as the balloon project. .. . . can't wait for the sequals . . bofum. - Mike KB3EIA - w3rv |

DON'T YOU KNOW THE RULEZ AS POSTED IN HERE?!?!? Where are they posted? They're not. Len's just being his usual self, not bothering to be constrained by reality, logic or common sense, let alone civil behavior. If you merely hint at doing something in here, you MUST CARRY OUT THAT ACTION or be forever a target of negative criticsm of "utter failure" and other sweet things said by all those others! If that's what you think, Len, where's your Extra? Umm, I haven't exactly "not" carried it out yet. There is/was no specific timetable. It's only been a few months. Henceforth, Mike Coslo will be forever labeled with the title of FAILURE TO REACH THE EDGE OF SPACE BY HAM RADIO! By whom? You may label me as whatever you like. The differences between my near-space ballooning project, and your "extra out of the box" are significant. One big difference is that I still intend to do the project. Here's a bunch mo - The balloon project has been declared impossible by Len. Nobody has declared it impossible for Len to get his Extra out of the box. - The balloon project involves a lot more than passing a few written and one code test. - You have only spent a few months on the balloon project. Len made his declaration more than 5 years ago. Also, an amateur radio license has been available to him since childhood (no age limits even back then) yet he hasn't even gotten a Tech. - You did not say you were going to reach 100,000 feet, just that you were going to try. Len said he was going for the Extra but hasn't even tried yet. - The balloon project is a group effort. Getting a license isn't. Lots more differences. 73 de Jim, N2EY |

I told him that "Seven hostile actions" was an idiom on rrap, at that "K4YZ" was an idiot on rrap. Perhaps I should get "equal time" so I can inform him that his father is known worlwide as a pathological liar. That's the Steve I know; always trying to get some time with other people's families. Uhhhhhhhhhh...Brain...... YOU are the one who said you were making disparging comments to your son about me. As heartbreaking as it may be, your son is going to have to find out about YOU someday. How do you think he's going to feel when he get's a chance to read these archives some day only to find out what a deceitful, lying putz his old man really is? I think he'll see you as the scoundrel. Google archives have the documents to support it. Shame for you, Brain, that when your son get's around to looking stuff up on the Internet in a few years, he'll find these exchanges and be able to "follow the bread crumbs" back to the truth...about you...his father. Wonder what he'll think then...?!?! Better get the silver polish out now so you can pray it get's THAT tarnish off! Steve, K4YZ He'll think his father was right about you... whacko! Really? How do you think he'll come to that conclusion after he get's a chance to follow the threads back? You're a liar, Brian P Burke. Got caught, more than once, and now it's archived in a medium that you can't control. Best of Luck No...best of luck to YOU, Brian. YOU are the one who's going to have to look his son in the eyes and explain why you acted the way you did. Good luck on THAT one now... Steve, K4YZ My eyes aren't the ones of a crazed lunatic. You've been warned away from my family before. Stay away. I take no warnings, instructions nor advice from you. On the other hand, YOU had better take some advice. Your eyes are not those of a crazed lunatic. Nor are mine. But your eyes ARE those of a pathological liar. One day, your son will want to know more about his father. He'll put "Brian P Burke" into Google (or it's successor), and guess what he'll find? Reams and reams of YOU getting reamed for lying over and over. Have a nice day. Steve, K4YZ |
