Don't take that cop-out, Old Friend. Competent operators of all license
classes (especially including UHF/VHF Techs) will be in great demand over
the next many months of recovery. Put together a capable VHF/UHF station,
maybe including a portable repeater or a base rig with cross-band repeat
capability, and volunteer your services at http://katrina.ab2m.net/ .

In addition, when the health and welfare traffic arrives in the general area
of its destination, it often goes into LOCAL VHF nets. Techs can
participate fully there, pick up traffic, and deliver it.
