My ruined father's day gift.

Hi!

Thanks to a clueless ePay seller. I wanted one for forty years,
and finally snagged a decent one for a good price.

Ouch. At least it wasn't plastic or wood, both of which I'd consider more
difficult to repair.

The jerk didn't even use packing material in the box!

Not to sound harsh or uncaring or anything, but if there was ever any doubt,
I'd send the seller my own box with worthy packaging materials inside. I've
only purchased one radio on eBay (succesfully, I've tried for others) and it
came very nicely packaged. At least that's the conclusion that I've come to
after reading many sad tales on RAR+P.

(I know that the seller might still screw it up. So I'd send a pretty darn
foolproof package with plenty of ability to stand errors.)

What a let down, I could have cried when I took it out of the box.

I wouldn't have blamed you if you did! Even if it is just a thing, you were
looking forward to it.

William

One always hears "It's just a thing, and things can be replaced." But that,
though accurate in most cases, does not apply equally across the board.
There are things that are irreplacable. Things such as this radio with an
emotional or nostagic attachment. Things like photos, mementos, etc.

'Things' such as getting something you really treasured for Fathers Day....

No matter what the outcome, he lost that.
