Any one done this?''' What's the problem you're having with the existing setup? Being totally unfamiliar with this particular scanner - he "might" have a power supply issue of sorts. I had a radio come in the shop once with bulbs that kept blowing out - a previous tech did nothing other than replace the blown bulbs - three times - without trying to corrrect the issue. I placed a resistor in line and no more blown bulbs. The surge when turning the set on - apparently was more than the bulbs wanted to see - even though the readings from the power supply were "as spec'd". The set worked flawlessly otherwise and since. THAT set was the only one I had seen of that model that had that issue. I had known many who had the same model with no issues. That could be a simple repair - without having to do any real mods......... Just my 2 cents L. |
