In the meantime, the PRO-96/2096 works quite well unless you need to track 700MHz trunked or LTR systems. In that case, the newer Uniden scanners (396/996) should work for you. All of the above *should* be able to be modified to work after rebanding takes place, but nothing is 100% certain. Hence, it may be wise indeed for GRE to wait. thanks ... enough waiting, going to take the digital plunge ... :-) can't find uniden locally, so radio shack it is.
