... I new to all this and I have a Motorola MaxTrac 800 and I want to know if it can be converted to be just an emergency scanner. I was told it could be but I can't even find a users guide for it. Motorola's web site dosen't even have one. If it can be converted could I do it? The model # is D35MWA5GB6AK Convert a conventional MaxTrac 800 trunking HT to a scanner? I suppose it is possible with the right software and an external device to drive it (like a PC) but it certainly isn't part of the standard functionality of that transceiver. If you want a trunking scanner, just buy one. It will be cheaper and more functional than whatever you might dream of doing with a Motorola-only HT solution. |
