*** Welcome to rec.radio.info! ***

Welcome to rec.radio.info, a group that aims to provide a noise-free
source of information and news for the entire rec.radio hierarchy.

Two introductory articles about rec.radio.info are posted to the group
every month. You are now reading the first article, which explains what
rec.radio.info is, and answers some Frequently Asked Questions. The
second article is titled Posting Guidelines, and you only need to read
it if you want to submit an article to rec.radio.info.

It's pretty dry and composed of mostly one-way mesages. The biggest
problem is the complete lack of organization. It's just a date
sequenced dump of tens of thousands of single messages with no
structure. It has the potential to be useful if the moderators would
organize the information by subject.

This is an un-moderated news group.
A total mish mash of postings that sometimes helps others of like interests.
It is, and has been useful to many seeking help and knowledge about radios.
If this does not serve your needs, then go elsewhere.

Which "this" are you referring to. The rec.radio.shortwave,
rec.radio.scanner or that other forum that is essentially a date-based
dump of single message postings.

A total mish mash of postings that sometimes helps others of like interests.

Which "A" are you referring to.

It is, and has been useful to many seeking help and knowledge about radios.

Which "it" are you talking about. If you are referring to the info
group any information posted there would be of use for only a very
short period of time because there is no organization or structure to
the messages. Under rec.radio-shortwave messages are posted under
topics. The info board should adopt that structure to correct the
chaotic structure.

The administrators of rec.radio.info are adept at creating overly-long
lists of behaviour rules, standards for editing message content and
levels of review. They are woefully short on presenting those fully
sanitized messages in any useful order however.

If this does not serve your needs, then go elsewhere.

Again, which "this" are you referring to. When cross posting you
have to give a point of reference to a, this, that and it.
