Default Remote site listening

Let's say I leave a scanner in location "A"
I move to location "B"
"A" and "B" sites connected via either Internet or some other means.

I would like to monitor more than just one frequency simultaneously.
Can a scanner accomplish this task?
Or would I need some other device?

Thanks in advance.

-Bill
