Default kenwood tk3101 446 radio

Hi All,
Does anyone know anything about switching off the ctcss tones
on this set?

i have found the excellent www.superiorsignals.co.uk which shows how
to manually move the 8 446 channels and also change the ctcss tones
but the 446 set my family use don't have the ctcss facility on it.

so they hear me but i only hear them if i keep the monitor button
pressed.

can i switch off the ctcss facility off on the kenwood?

thanks...scanman

Have you tried setting it to CTCSS tone Zero ?

Otherwise it could be like the old Motorola T200,
you can't switch off the CTCSS
