I own an Icom R10. Would I get better raw performance with reaction tuning
with the Scout or the just an Xplorer?

Better raw performance would most definitely come from the Xplorer.

I would like to hear opinions from owners about this.

Why would you need an Xploder? The scout will do just as well for a lot less $$$.

The Xploder has a speaker and such built in so no additional receiver is needed. If reaction tune is your thing, it's overkill IMHO.
