We know that two senior members of the Bush administration intentionally
blew the cover of an undercover CIA officer whose job is combating

of mass destruction (WMD) proliferation. And their motivation was pure
politics.


After he went public with his charges in a New York Times op-ed article, the
White House did all it could discredit Wilson's mission ...

To get back at Wilson, they blew the cover of
his wife, Valerie Plame, a covert CIA operative specializing in tracking
other countries' efforts to acquire WMD.


Her "cover" must have not been too good if everyone in the Executive
Branch knew who she was. If the mission was properly
"compartmentalized" then no one would know who she was except the
people who needed to know. Senior White House Officials don't need to
know the names of spies. They just need the information collected.
Either Wilson and Valerie Plame are outrageously incompetent or this
is yet another internet conspiracy theory.
