That's great to hear, as I'm getting one of these in a couple of days! Are
you guys using just the "stock" antennas, or are you using something else?

Stock rubber duck antenna. We've owned many scanners each over the years -
base/mobile/portable, so we've seen some good performance here. I did ask of
others opinions before buying... I had no bad ones. So, I told my brother
the results of my question. We got them, programmed them and even in
otherwise dead areas, they've picked up well. So, as I said, we are
impressed. I'm sure you'll like or out right love yours. Our biggest
problem is filling in the other 700 or so channels. I'm sure we will over
time. If they pick up so well with a RD, I can imagine what a better antenna
