Is there anyway to modify the Pro 96 to pick up cell & cordless phone
transmissions???

Doubt you can modify it for cell phone frequencies (almost all cell
transmissions are now digital anyway). Cordless phone freqs can still be
monitored in the typical 49 and 900 mhz ranges without modification. The
cordless phones that operate in the Gigahertz ranges are obviously not able
to be heard with this scanner.

This is all not to mention the fact that it's illegal in the US to
intentionally monitor cellphone and cordless phone frequencies.
