Tell the police that leaving the battery connected will drain it so much the
memories will be lost. With a bit of luck they'll take the battery pack off
and by the time it gets to court the memories will be lost and there will be
no evidence to prosecute you.

I left my scanner in the bathroom at the local Wendys. When I returned to
get it, I found a customer playing with it (the scanner) while he ate his
hamburger.

I told him it was my scanner and he asked me to prove it.

I told him a lot of the frequencies in there.
I told him I could pick up cordless phone freqeuencies, like the ones at
Wendys..

Well he tried that and the Wendys employees called the police.
The police took away my radio. I have rights!

I have a lawyer. What can I do?
