You can just skip over to Canada from Detroit and get one and then

The problem with the USA version IC-R5 (and IC-R20) is that ICOM deleted more than just the cellular phone frequencies. They cut important frequencies which are used by police, fire, and other agencies in the United States. The USA version IC-R5 will not receive 822 - 824, 849 - 851, 867 - 870, and 894 - 896 MHz Frequencies in the 867 - 868 MHz range (and 45 MHz below) are used by 3 local towns which I monitor but the USA version IC-R5 and IC-R20 omit those segments. -- ================================================== ======================= Bob Parnass, AJ9S GNU/Linux User http://parnass.com |
