Scanner shows 'FrErr' on display - not low battery issue. You can enter a freq
into a channel and it will recieve but will not scan or when you turn it off and back on it looses info and shows the 'FrErr'. Have a working HX1500 and when I interchange the front cover with enclosed pcb it now works. Whats in the circuit board in the front cover that might cause this? any ideas? Thanks, Dale |

Thanks Mike for the thoughts. No backup battery in unit. Manual says: all
memory functions handled by an IC that includes a unique non volatile memory...maintains freqs for 10 yrs w/o battery. Checked on the cb and yup! no battery. Believe this was a common problem...maybe soemthing to do with voltage regulators?? But where and what component? Thanks, Dale |

Mike, Not aware of any source for a circuit diagram. Since the scanner is a
bit older, I'm afraid one might not be readily available. Did numerous web searches to no avail. Anyone out there have a schematic? Would a digital picture be of any assistance for you? There isn't much on the circuit board in question. Thanks again Mike. |
