The Orange display is ALWAYS on, along with all of the keys. Not sure about
how many channels you can lock out.

I am thinking about getting this scanner & I have questions that are
not answered by the "product info" on most scanner selling sites.

First of all.... the backlit screen...... can it be turned on & left
on.... or does it turn off by itself? ( if i remember correctly the
screen on my old bct-7 was always on)

Is there a limited number of available frequencies that you could lock
out? My old bct-7 was severely limited & this annoyed me to no end.

The backlight is orange & not green like on the bct-7 (If i remember
correctly)?

Thanks in advance
