I've been given a Radio Shack Pro-82 scanner. No jokes about Radio Shack,
please. I think the one-touch bank numbers work OK, but I want to select a bank by bank number, so I can enter some frequencies. According to the instruction book (p.29), "To turn on a channel-storage bank (1-10) during scanning, press the bank's number key. A bar appears under the bank's number." When I press the numbers, nothing happens. It's scanning away happily in, say, the weather bank, but pressing numbers on the keypad does nothing. What am I missing? -- Curtis Croulet Temecula, California 33° 27' 59"N, 117° 05' 53"W |

I'm sure the guy who wrote the intruction booklet thought it was all very
clear. When you press the "one-touch" buttons, the scanner is scanning, but it's not in the scan mode you need to access the different banks. You have to press the "scan" button for that. -- Curtis Croulet Temecula, California 33° 27' 59"N, 117° 05' 53"W |
