i would doubt you are in range they are very low power
only a few 100mts at best.

Not true. I live at least a mile from the closes McD's and it booms in when
I scanner around that band. It really depends on your radio and especially
your antenna. You probably will not be able to pick them up on a handheld
with a rubber duck antenna but add an good outside antenna and you probably
can listen to them from at least a mile away.

It's all antenna, I used to receive 49 MHz cordless from up to 10 miles
using a 6 meter 5 element beam at 65 feet. With a rubber duck the best was
about 1/2 mile.

I have a BC60XLT with a coiled antenna will that work?

where can i get a 6 meter 5 element beam?
