Now that the 2005 Super Bowl is over and most of the Combat Air Patrol
aircraft are leaving the area I’ve posted the recorded audio of today missions on the www.MilAirComms.com website. The Super Bowl was played in Jacksonville, FL, 95 miles to the North of my location. By being nearly 100 miles away there still were a lot of Military Comms to hear. I've broken up the entire monitoring session into 5 different files. ALL monitoring was received on an by far the best Omni-Directional scanning antenna money can buy! What you will hear are NORAD F16's, F15's and NAVY P3 aircraft chasing aircraft out of the restricted airspace around the Jacksonville area. Also heard are mid-air refueling operations being conducted in support of this Combat Air Patrol (CAP) mission. All aircraft heard are loaded with weapons and ready to shoot down any aircraft which they feel is a threat. Some todays most active frequencies we 282.4250, 121.5000, 264.4000, 292.7000, 377.0500, 308.4000, 355.8000, 256.6000 (used by VIPER Fly Over which may have had a Senator on board), 354.3250, 291.7000, 293.6000. For some interesting records from the Super Bowl as well as tons of other military comms go to http://www.MilAirComms.com George – Daytona Beach, FL http://www.MilAirComms.com |

postulated : Who is the Combat Air Patrol? Nobody you'd want to know. They (we) have been around since before the Cold War. |

Same feeling I get every time I go to the U.S.
As soon as I cross the boarder into the U.S. I'm always on the look out for a moment of sheer terror. Justin wrote: Combat Air Patrol refers to military aircraft that patrol an area to intercept aircraft. It can be a long boring shift for a pilot, but every once in a while the hours of boredom can lead to moments of sheer terror. |

My guess is his need to insult everyone in every post comes from sexual dysfunctional issues, but I'm no doctor. -- To reply, remove TheObvious from my e-mail address. |
