Uniden BC-855XLT POWER PROBLEM

Hi, Left it with its power supply plug on my ac outlet for a week, then
yesterday when i tried to turn it on, it wouln't power up anymore. no sound
no lights on the lcd, its completely dead. what would be the reason? a power
surge? if so, which part should i replace on the board to make it work
again. any ideas? thanks.
