... The PRO-97 is an excellent scanner! Some systems require you to skip the first channel when programming. Possible? Bill Crocker "Alex Clayton" wrote in message k.net... Damn what a day! We use the Mot.Type II here. My 95 works fantastic, and the instructions for the 97 were almost identical. The only difference I could see was a slight difference in things like to change mode, it was a different button and such. I did not read anything about skipping a channel, and I did try to very carefully follow the instructions step by step, twice, and got the same results twice. That's why I was wondering if it was something I was doing wrong. I remember well a couple years ago when the city switched over to trunked here, I already had my 95, and it took some frustrating trial and error trying to get it to work. The manual was not real easy to understand, but of course it's easy now. It would of course have helped if the "staff" there at the shack had any idea what they were doing, but alas none of them had a clue how these work. I have been very happy with my 95, just wanted an extra on hand because I have come to rely on these things at the one job. It was worth it too me to have an extra around. The 95 they exchanged it for programmed fine, it just did not work well at all at least compared to my old 95. I suppose if I did not already have the other 95 I might have not known anything was wrong for a while. -- Experience is something you don't get until just after you need it. |
