Default Yupiteru silly trivia

On a keyboard, the keys needed to type the word YUPITERU are all on the
same row.
As Gomer Pyle once said, "Makes ya thank."

Actually the origin of the brand name is equally fascinating. It is,
perhaps, related to the reason why a famous video game of the 1980's
involving a large monkey ended up being known to the English-speaking
world as DONKEY Kong.

"YUPITERU" is "JUPITER" transliterated into Japanese and then (badly) back
into English.

I just told this to my teenaged son (who really liked that game when he was
younger) and he said, "I always wondered what that name was all about."

I just assumed they meant it to be "MONKEY Kong," or some such thing.

Speaking of goofy Japanese/English translations... www.engrish.com
