Actually the origin of the brand name is equally fascinating. It is, perhaps, related to the reason why a famous video game of the 1980's involving a large monkey ended up being known to the English-speaking world as DONKEY Kong. "YUPITERU" is "JUPITER" transliterated into Japanese and then (badly) back into English. |

I just told this to my teenaged son (who really liked that game when he was younger) and he said, "I always wondered what that name was all about." I just assumed they meant it to be "MONKEY Kong," or some such thing. Speaking of goofy Japanese/English translations... www.engrish.com I laugh every time I visit. It's updated daily.
