Thanks. One question? I've been scanning through those freq's and
never get nothing. Wal-Mart is only about 5 miles from me. From
reading these Cobra's can reach up to about 10 miles. Any idea why I'm
not hearing anything. Is there a way that Wal-Mart could possibly have
them blocked from being heard?

Those radios have a .75 mile range on the average. That 10 mile range crap
is just that, crap. I have NEVER heard any FRS radio go more than a couple
miles.

'never get nothing' ???? Better learn how to write in English!

Anyhow, maybe they're using GMRS channels???

Or one or some of the other frequencies available to commercial customers.

Ten miles is hype. Even 5 miles would be hype. Maybe a little more
than 1 mile, but probably not much more.

But Al you know how they test these range stats. 2 canoes
on a large lake using the anchor chains as an rf grd. ;-)

Hey Dufus, just how much RF Ground do you think is required at 450 Mhz,
considering that 1/4 Lambda is about 4 inches??????

The one thing you fellows have overlooked is that most of these things
at WallyWorld are being used INSIDE a Concrete Rebared Structure with
few holes except the front doors.......
