Does anyone know the meaning of the 'signal 80' code for the police in
northwest Indiana?

It means there are no active warrants for the subject in NCIC or local
courts. In other words, the individual is not wanted on any known
outstanding warrants.

For that, the dispatcher says "negative 10-29" or simply "negative 29"
for all agencies around here (northern Alabama). If there is a warrant,
it'll be something like "29 in hand for..." or "Multiple 29s as follows..."
