Default does a scanner like that exist (and if yes - where)

There's a difference between a wide-band radio that can "scan" a few
channels and a scanner. Without considerable help, neither the AOR nor
the Icom can "scan" a trunked system - one of the things the OP asked
for.


I do believe one of those companies just came out with a wide band receiver
that actually *does* scan trunked systems - without considerable help. Does
that still not meet your criteria for a scanner? Is the name "Icom" or
"AOR" that you don't like?
