AM Does your local town own the airport? This sounds like service
vehicles or fire trucks that have to go onto the active runway and taxiway
areas of the airport.

Would a Town service use AM
rather than fm ? Why, if so ?

All 118- 136 MHz AERO frequencies are AM.
