I don't think Gommert has an attitude problem. He writes excellent software
for a multitude of scanners, and exploits all their features! The software looks great, and works as advertised. It's well supported too! You can email Gommert directly, and he responds, and provides answers, fixes, and updates to all his software products. I've purchased ARC780, ARC250PRO, and recently ARC396PRO. In another week, or so, I'll probably purchase ARC330...still waiting for the radio. I've been totally satisfied with Butel's software, and Gommert's support! Gommert also participates in the Usenet newsgroups, and on Radio Reference as well! I think he is definitely an asset to the hobby! He works hard, and wants to get paid. What's wrong with that? Why should he give it away? Bill Crocker "Al Klein" wrote in message ... No problem with donating to the RadioReference website, it is well worth it, in my opinion - so, what would you suggest...unlock the Uniden sw or purchase the 3arc330? I use the Uniden software, only because I don't like Gommert's attitude. I'm a shareware/freeware author and he disparages free software. YMMV. I'm leaning more toward the arc330, but I'm not crazy about the interface and graphics. Any comments on using the RR website with either program to dl and program freqs? The Uniden programs don't directly download from the site, but KB8SOE has a site that can generate a file from a copy/paste of the site. I've used it a few times. www.kb8soe.com/396/uasd.php |
