Just "a little more clean up"?? Well into the -FOURTH- year??

and "Everything will be OK."??

How naive of you.
Snip

Do you have any idea how stupid you look posting off topic

political
stuff for the most part to this news group? I didn't think so.

Plonk

Do you think of how stupid you look trying to divorce politics from
shortwave? Do you truly believe that much of this hasn't been hashed
over every form of communications medium available including

shortwave?
Spare us your hypocrisy!

No one's keeping people from going over
to soc or talk newsgroups and discussing
politics there; that's what those newsgroups
are for.

All of what you say is true but Telamon's robe isn't pearly white on the
posting of off-topic items and his "plonk" seems to be remarkably
selective at times. So selective one might say that it is
politically-based ;-).

Telamon is right that if you feel you have
the right to spout off about it, people also
have the right to not listen. If a user is
constantly changing e-mail addresses
to make sure that they are heard, then
people will simply go away and you're
left talking to a wall.

No argument about not having to listen. Just put the person in a
killfile and be done with it. It's his public display of the fact that
is rather interesting and attempts to convey the illusion that he is the
rec.radio.shortwave netkkkop. He isn't and never will be. If he wants
control that badly then let him start his own newsgroup and moderate it.

Sports are found just as easily on shortwave,
but you hardly ever hear it mentioned here
at even close to the frequency that you
do with politics. Same thing happens with
music.

That's the crux of the matter - he's deciding, and, by posting in
public, what he feels is relevant to this newsgroup. No one has that
control over this newsgroup. End of story. I feel that everything from
solar physics to electronics to politics to music to sports to shack
set-ups and everything in between are relevant to this newsgroup.

Maybe I should start crossposting NFL and
rugby and cricket news to compensate for
the political news.

I have no problem with that particularly when reception conditions are
miserable ;-)

Thank you for the intelligent discussion!

My, my. How convenient of you to overlook the death or maiming of
the sons and daughters of America.

And, sadly, it's all for naught.

Seeing as you advertise you are slow, I will type the following real
slooow.

As of August 7, 2006, the O-F-F-I-C-I-A-L position of the
administration is: NO WMDs. Don't quote me any web addresses or give
me your -opinion-; the OFFICIAL -government- position is "NO WMDs".

The whole "yellowcake" episode has been proven, time and again, to
be a fraud and a FORGERY.

NONE (as in ZERO) of the 9/11 mad dogs were from Iraq and they STILL
aren't from Iraq.

Saddam did NOT support Bin Laden; Saddam was for a secular
government and Osama was for a ultraconservative religious
government---they were at -opposite- ends of the political spectrum.

This whole "war" is BULL**** and sadly, people on both sides are
dying for nothing.

Joe from Kokomo

Awww-Jeez, Not this **** again.

Please just shorten the "Slow Code" to "Slow"; it'll be more
reflective of who you are. Can you not reply intelligently to any of
the aforementioned points? Or does that process escape you completely?

The effective translation of your statement is that you don't have a
clue.

The effective translation of my statement is that you won't accept the
truth because your a liberal idiot.

Truth is for chumps.

''Common dictionary definitions of truth mention some form of accord
with fact or reality. There is, however, no single definition of truth
about which scholars agree, and numerous theories of truth continue to
be widely debated. Differing opinions exist on such questions as what
constitutes truth, how to define and identify truth, what roles do
revealed and acquired knowledge play, and whether truth is subjective,
relative, objective, or absolute.''
