I don't have a lot of experience with radios on big metal ships. My
little Degen 1103 portable did a nice job on the big metal ferry boat to Long Island. Actually got Ashtabula Bill out in Ohio http://www.amwindow.org/audio/htm/w8vyz.htm on 75m at high noon. Point is you should do good with just a whip if you're topside. The metal should actually help to keep the noise inside. Don't forget to pack your headphones. 73 NEO MrZ wrote: I was wondering how to best hear my portable Sangean ATS 909 on a cruise ship - lots of metal . . . I have a long wire antenna that I can hook on my whip antenna and was wondering if that would do. Thanks |
