You might hear some unusual medium wave (MW) DX on a ship, as MW
signals propogate far over water. But then again, all the appliances
and machinery on a ship may generate so much electronic hash at MW
frequencies that reception will be awful, I dunno.

I went on a cruise and took my Sony 7600. I went far forward from the bridge
and clipped the 15 feet wire spool that comes with the Sony to a rigging.
That gave me about 15 feet of vert.

I got fabulous reception, with no QRM to speak of. (This was an Alaska
cruise.)

I used my GPS to log location while DX. Not a single person hassled me.
