Default Is there a way

To stop the beeping that an uninterruptible power supply loses an ac connection and connects the batteries ? I have an old one I use for my shortwave and would like to use the battery, but don't want to listen to the beep . TIA

I wanted to silence a modem and used an old piece of sticky-sided
Velcro. I stuck it over the hole of the transducer and it quieted
nicely so I could just hear it. It is still sticking four years later.
