Default Kenwood R5000 lithium battery

Has anyone successfully used a CR2032 for the memory battery in the
R5000? Similar questions have been asked and covered here and
elsewhere, and while some said this one is not rechargable, I can't
find any posts saying the CR2032 is OK.

The correct part is difficult to get here, and QST for July has an
article covering adding solder tabs to a 2032 for use in a TS940, so
if it will be OK that is a good option.
