Default need help ATS818

My AST818 lost the SW and LW mode the FM and the MW work just fine. I had
this problem fixed before but it was under warranty I put my signal
generator next to the radio and nothing. so I took the radio apart to see if
I could see any signs of repair the only spot I see if where a Cap goes
(10volt 220Uf) I don't know if this will cause the problem.

Thanks
Eddie

The ATS 818 is notorious for popping the fet in the rf amp. You can get
a replacement MPF 102 at Radio Shack. If you Google MPF 102 you will
get lots of discussions on this problem. Eham has 4 pages including
tips on replacing the fet. Good Luck.

You can find a good article on this plus some discussions on the
rec.radio.shortwave site.
