Perhaps he's pulling a 'Michael Bryant'... making claims of educational achievements he doesn't have? I lay no claim to either a valid US college or high school degree. I have neither. Never said I did. Wouldn't surprise me based upon some of his other claims. None of which you have proven to be wrong. Go sip from the Fountain of Stupidity(tm) again. |

![]() wrote in message ups.com... No wonder, CC and the rest of the broadcasting bunch are in such a sad state of affairs ! I really have to know what this obsession of your with college degrees is based on. For many, a college degree is an impediment. Going to a trade or professional school (in the English model) would be much more useful, productive and satisfying. For others, college is fine. But so many do majors in totally useless fields that have no application in the real world... people need to keep their personal interests separate from career goals. A broad sampling of both the arts and the disciplines is good for those uncertain of their career choice. Those who want to go into radio and who study communications are at a big disadvantage. And then there are the students who are bored of formal education, and learn better on their own. |

Was wondering if there are any PC software programs to decode this stuff, like are avail. for so many of the other digital modes, so one wouldn't need another (dedicated) radio to hear it ? Not much chance a NON-HD radio could pick it up. The signal is 50 kHz wide, with the primary digital channel in side bands out at 15-25 kHz, both sides of the main carrier. (Secondary out at 5-15 kHz). And, (vague recollection), the phase of the sideband modulation is setup so that they cancel out in a wide band receiver. If you had a formal education, then you wouldn't be spending all your time trying to prove yourself on these boards, from feelings of inadequacy; maybe, someone should email Univision, with a copy of all your posts, during working hours. Those with degress in broadcast communications, could run circles around you. |

If you had a formal education, then you wouldn't be spending all your time trying to prove yourself on these boards, from feelings of inadequacy; maybe, I fail to see how someone who had a #1 radio station in a large market at age 18 can feel inadequate. I am just playing the old net game of feeding the trolls. someone should email Univision, with a copy of all your posts, during working hours. Haha. Good for a laugh. My working hours are often 4 AM yto 2 AM the next day, and involve 150,000 miles of travel a year. My "working hours" change from day to day. I take breaks whenever I can, but still end up working about 60 hours a week. Those with degress in broadcast communications, could run circles around you. Proven untrue. We shy away from those with communications degrees, as what is given as the bible in such departments in academia tends to be a decade or two out of date. After a few years of experience, we don't look at the degree anyway. It is truly irrelevant and trumped over and over by real experience and verifiable success. |

SNIPS NASTINESS Isn't it funny that you portray yourself as the Ace of DX, but over 90% of your posts are insults based on nationalities, ethnicities and races you do not like. A few more are based on whether the R75 has a space or a hyphen in its "official" name, but the essence of your posts is hatred and vitriol, mixed in equal parts. Could I ask people not to quote this distasteful person as it allows his infantile hatred to get past our filters. Just leave a gap where his words were - we all know the kind of thing he says. Better still, let's all ignore him and the other half dozen twerps that try to spoil this group. Steps down from pulpit and makes a cup of tea. Charlie. -- www.wymsey.co.uk |
